The Bathroom Manufacturers Association is thrilled to announce the Sustainability Awards winners, following the first ceremony of its kind.
The celebration at the Conrad St James Hotel, London, on Tuesday  was attended by 90 guests who enjoyed a three course meal before the wooden trophies were dished out by the sponsors.
Compere for the inaugural BMA Sustainability Awards event, Tim Pollard, said: “These awards recognise the efforts of bathroom manufacturers to reduce their carbon impact, through all sorts of activities.
“Telling the story of the changes you are making is so important, it allows others to understand the journey and to take inspiration.
“It was a privilege to be involved in these awards, and I hope it will encourage others to accelerate their sustainability efforts.”
The winners in the five categories were:
- The circular economy award –Roman.
- The carbon reduction award – Highly commended was Triton‘s ‘For a cleaner conscience’. Winner – Kohler Mira national distribution centre in Worcester.
- The workplace initiative award – Triton
- The water efficiency category – Highly commended was Fluidmaster Airgap 6000 Series, and the winner – Aguardio.
- The sustainability champion winner – Lee Jones from NBS.
The awards sponsors were: Elemental, Unified Water Label Association, Used Kitchen Exchange and Fleet Evolution.
BMA Chief Executive, Tom Reynolds, said: “We launched these inaugural sustainability awards with some trepidation.
“We were relieved when manufacturers started to make entries, were excited when we saw the quality of submissions, and elated when we received the incredibly positive independent judges’ feedback.
“Manufacturers are embracing the transformation of their businesses and lessening the environmental impact of the sector as a whole.
“My congratulations go to all finalists, and particularly the winners and special recognition recipients.”
