The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) has partnered with the Band of Builders charity in 2024, seeking to raise funds at our Annual Conference.
The BMA’s conference takes place on September 16th and 17th at the Queens Hotel, Leeds, and is our members’ highlight of the year. The conference theme focuses on ‘building growth’ and features high-profile speakers and specific workshops.
As the UK enters a crucial election year, the nation will decide which political party will get their backing to deliver growth and, crucially, how policymakers will tackle the persistent challenge of solving the crisis in our housing market to ‘get Britain building’.
By choosing the Band of Builders as the charity partner, the BMA wishes to recognise the charity’s crucial work in helping construction industry members in their hour of need.
The humble beginnings of the charity began in 2016 when a landscape gardener, Addam Smith, called on volunteers to help renovate the garden of a friend and fellow tradesman, Keith Ellick, who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. After years of successful projects with a combined delivery value of over £1m, the charity provides practical, financial and wellbeing support to members of the construction sector and their families who face adversity due to illness, injury or life-changing circumstances.
Band of Builders CEO Gavin Crane will attend the Annual Conference gala dinner on September 17 to give a short speech about the charity and help with the fundraising efforts through the conference’s popular charity raffle and auction.
Tom Reynolds, Chief Executive of the BMA, said: “We are delighted that Band of Builders will be our conference charity partner for 2024.
“The bathroom manufacturing sector relies heavily on the talent and hard work of those in construction, and we want to help those who now need support.”
Band of Builders CEO Gavin Crane said: “We are grateful to have the support of the BMA and their members at their Annual Conference.
“Only with the kindness and support of continued fundraising can we hope to support our friends in the construction sector and make a difference.”
