PROPELAIR BECOMES A MEMBER OF THE BMA

Propelair, a cleantech company manufacturing the world’s lowest water-flush toilet, has joined the Bathroom Manufacturers Association.

The Propelair is a unique eco toilet which can reduce water use by 84%, decrease germs by 95%, and achieve payback in water bills in as little as 1-3 years.

It operates using just 1.5 litres in a two-section cistern which separates the air from water.

The flush process of the Propelair toilet does not rely on a vacuum infrastructure – instead of sucking the waste, it propels air into the bowl.

Tom Reynolds, Chief Executive of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association, said: “We’re excited to welcome Propelair onboard, their innovative product is already being used by many organisations in the UK and beyond to reduce water demand.

“Improving the environmental credentials of the bathroom sector is one of our key strategic priorities at the BMA, as we look ahead to a more sustainable society.”

David Hollander, CEO of Propelair, said: “Today, more than 2bn people lack safely managed drinking water, and in that context, it is grossly irresponsible to waste nine litres of water with every flush.

“Propelair is a small business with only a few thousand installations but already our customers are saving nearly 1bn litres of water every year.

“Joining the BMA is an obvious step for us, we are focused on increasing our presence in the office, retail and leisure and hotel sectors and the insight the BMA can offer is invaluable.”
