New for 2024 – Installer Kitchens & Bathrooms

InstallerSHOW has been building momentum for several years delivering an event for the modern building industry with an emphasis on sustainability, smart technology and future proof industry practices. Backed by extensive online editorial at installershow.com, InstallerSHOW brings essential information and comment to the industry on a daily basis.

2023 saw the introduction of bathrooms to InstallerSHOW with key exhibitors and an educational talks theatre which proved to be extremely popular with visitors. Of course, this  means this sector will grow for 2024, with more exhibitors and a full programme of talks and presentations curated by the Bathroom Manufacturer’s Association

New for 2024 will be a dedicated space for kitchens, with a talks programme created by Andy Bishop who has extensive knowledge and experience of the sector via other KBB events and media. Joining Andy ‘in the kitchen’ will be industry legend, Johnny Grey whose celebrated 4Gen kitchen will be rebuilt as the centrepiece to this exciting new space.

*Johnny Grey’s 4Gen kitchen was created in collaboration with aging expert Professor Peter Gore and was described by Newcastle Helix as “the word’s most intelligent kitchen”.  Built as a research project aiming at total inclusivity, the multigenerational kitchen includes a state-of-the-art ‘cooking anywhere’ induction hob, representing the newest, safest cooking technology, as well as a working table with a linked circular preparation counter, rise-and-fall countertops, and wall cupboards made from carbon-neutral, lightweight and fireproof materials. A ‘soft geometry’ walk-in pantry offers easy visual and physical access. Johnny Grey comments: “Creating a kitchen that was welcoming for everyone, not just older people but children, friends and home workers was an exciting challenge. It combines beauty and function, with flexible, responsive furniture, and technology which means it behaves in a way that works for the whole family. It’s more than just a kitchen, it’s a living space, and I’m thrilled that Installer Kitchens & Bathrooms visitors will have the chance to enjoy it.”

In a full programme of talks and presentations, topics will cover many elements of kitchen design, manufacture and installation to offer key information to all visitors. Highlights will include:

‘What consumers really want in 2024’ will reveal findings of an in-depth research survey programme conducted by Unhooked Communications that looks into the minds of the consumer.

‘Sustainability – how can the KBB industry make a difference’ speakers will include representatives from eBay and Rehome in a session hosted by sustainable design journalist Elspeth Pridham

‘Universal Access – Designing for all’ Renowned kitchen design expert Adam Thomas joins a panel to discuss his ground-breaking work in accessible, multi-generational and inclusive kitchen design.

‘The Future of Kitchen Design’ features Johnny Grey discussing his highly innovative work (see above) alongside Owain Harrison of high-tech appliance manufacturer, Novy who will present the future of appliances and connectivity.

Finally, bringing a touch of celebrity to the proceedings, award winning restaurant critic and Observer journalist Jay Rayner will explain why the kitchen plays such an important role in the home and Dream Kitchens and Bathrooms’ Mark Millar discusses his work for TV and private clients.

A full programme of InstallerSHOW’s kitchen talks and presentations will appear on Installershow.com in the coming weeks, along with interviews and reports on the kitchen sector.
