The Bathroom Manufacturers Association, BMA, held a successful AGM at the Leicester Marriott on 26 June, announcing a number of changes designed to streamline the management of the association and support CEO designate Tom Reynolds as he implements a new 3 year strategy.

The meeting voted for a change in governance structure that will bring together the Board and management committees into one governing committee, along with a number of changes to the articles of association.  

Tom confirmed that the focus of the trade body going forward would continue to be product compliance with a growing emphasis on sustainability.  He spoke of the core values around credibility and how the association would deliver its outcomes via education, enforcement, awareness and influence.

He said, “The BMA has a thriving membership and strong foundations.  The strategy I am developing will continue to support members with the things they value and deliver a clear purpose for the future.”

Current CEO Yvonne Orgill updated members on the current campaigns, outlining the positive progress that has been made on the introduction of the Unified Water Label (UWL).  Yvonne has taken on the role of MD at the UWL and the association will manage the label until at least the end of 2020.

Details for the 2019 Bathroom & Kitchen Business Conference, which takes place on the8th October at the Carden Park Hotel, Cheshire, were also presented.
